Overton, 96, of Sycamore, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the night Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center after a short stay. Born May 10, 1928, at home in Genoa, IL, the daughter of Fred Pinne and Veronica Schaeffer. Shirley married WWII veteran, Clifford Overton, on May 26, 1946 in Genoa. They moved to Sycamore in 1966. Shirley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sycamore and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener and home canner. She worked at Glidden Pharmacy in Genoa, was a Cub Scout Leader, and volunteered at Elder Care Services. She and her husband, Clifford, raised 4 children and fostered 2 children.
