Jerry W. Simmons, 75, of Kirkland, IL, died Monday, March 24, 2025, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1949, in Walnut Ridge, AR, the son of Clead Simmons and Roberta Hammonds, Jerry married Dilene Swinson on July 18, 1970 in Sycamore, IL.
In his free time, Jerry loved to hunt and fish all his life. He enjoyed his construction work and the people around him. If he had music on, you knew it would be country. Most of all, Jerry absolutely adored his family and friends. He was known to be very friendly and a big talker. You didn't even have to know him for him to start talking to you.
Jerry is survived by his spouse, Dilene; children, Dawn (Dan) Capes, Patrick Christensen, DeWayne (Jessica) Simmons, Doreen (Manuel) Simmons, and Denise Simmons; grandchildren, Nicholas, Devin, Reilly, Alex, Andrew, and Manuel Jr.; 5 brothers; 9 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
