Glenn Arthur Meeter Born: May 4, 1934 in Hammond, IN Died: March 20, 2025 in DeKalb, IL Dr. Glenn Meeter died peacefully in DeKalb, Illinois, on March 20, 2025. Dr. Meeter was educated in Christian schools in Munster, Indiana; at Lutheran High School in Racine, Wisconsin; at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. While attending Calvin College, Glenn met Marlene Meyerink, and they married in 1955. Dr. Meeter taught English at Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, Illinois, and English and Creative Writing at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, from 1964-1969. Then he and his family moved to DeKalb, Illinois, where he taught English and Creative Writing from 1969-1999 at Northern Illinois University.
