Ricky K. 'Buck' Beck Born: January 18, 1952 Died: March 17, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky K. "Buck" Beck of DeKalb, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Rick, 73, passed away on March 17, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him deeply, and his dog, Finn. Rick was born in Highland Park, Michigan on January 18, 1952, to Marshall K Beck and Jeanne Elizabeth Shores. He was the oldest of four boys, Larry, Dennis, and David. Rick attended Paw Paw High School graduating in 1970. While in high school, Rick was a pitcher on the baseball team, and played on the golf team. After high school, Rick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was tasked with walking the base perimeter with his loyal service dog, Jake. It was during this time that Rick's love for animals ignited. His bond with animals remained with him throughout his life, often seen in his devoted care for his own dogs.
