John Richard 'Pops' Dyer Born: February 23, 1944 Died: May 4, 2024 John Richard "Pops" Dyer, age 80, of Paw Paw, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on February 23, 1944 in Whitesburg, TN, the son of John J. and Mary (Guinn) Dyer. As a child, Rich spent his toddler years in Tennessee before moving to the Lee, IL area with his family. As a teen, Rich lived in St. Charles, IL and often shared stories of his time there - roller skating down the hills of Main Street, floating down the Fox River on ice slabs in the winter, and swimming in water towers. Several years later, he met his wife, Janet "Amma" C. Pederson, at a diner downtown St. Charles and proposed soon after. They were united in marriage on June 5, 1965 and spent nearly 50 happy years together until her passing on March 2, 2015.
