ARLEN L. RODER

Arlen LeRoy Roder, 85, of Sycamore, IL. formerly of Montevideo, MN. died on June 27, 2024.
He was born on August 21, 1938 in Milbank, SD to Leonard and Alice Roder. He was baptized in Milbank and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo in May of 1952. He graduated from Montevideo High School-Class of 1958 and during high school, he helped his father on the farm and also worked at JC Penney's. After graduation he worked at the Swift Creamery in Montevideo.
Arlen was drafted into the U.S. Army in September of 1961 and served in Korea as a supply handler. He was honorably discharged in September of 1963. He married Anita Brock on October 17, 1963 in Clarkfield, MN. They lived in Montevideo where Arlen worked at the West Side Grocery Store.
His son Mark was born in Montevideo and then Arlen and Anita moved to Sycamore in 1965, where their daughter Pam was born in 1967. Arlen worked for Turner Brass, Barber-Greene and later at NIU until his retirement.
