Linda Swedberg, 82, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Monday, July 1, 2024, at Oak Crest Retirement Center in DeKalb.
Born November 7, 1941, in Sycamore, the daughter of Robert Evans and Gwenivere O'Connor. Linda married Dale Swedberg June 23, 1962 in Sycamore. She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1981 where she earned her Bachelor's degree in teaching. Linda went on to teach for both Sycamore and Genoa school districts.
Linda, in collaboration with her husband and sons started the Cub & Spanks Tavern in 1987 in Sycamore. Linda loved to travel, taking time to visit places like Alaska, Hawaii, Thailand and Mexico. She especially enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Delavan in Wisconsin with her family. When the kids were little, Linda would take them tent camping, often packing the station wagon and heading North. She was a member of the Sycamore Elks Lodge.
