Hanson, 66, of Leland, IL passed away Monday, June 17th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 28th, 1957 in Chicago, IL. The daughter of Robert and Edna (Markey) Courtney. She married John A. Hanson on October 23, 1999 in Leland, IL. She lived in Beverly and moved to Millington where she met John and later married. She was a mezzo soprano singer and trained as an opera singer in Chicago. Her passion was being able to sing. She loved cooking and had a catering business, and over the years she owned and operated four restaurants. Kathryn also had a passion for animals. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband John; her children, Jeremy Niels, Luke (Elizabeth) Niels, Shane Niels and David Niels; twelve grandchildren, Dorian, Johnny, Savana, Travis, Luke Jr., Abigail, John Paul, Michael, James, Anne Marie, Bennett
